Driftwood Treehouse

Relax under thatch in the cozy 1-bedroom treehouse, with a queen XL bed, and a single XL day bed that can made up on request. A mattress for under 10s can also be added next to the queen bed. Towels and linen are provided.

A desk upstairs has a view of Kwelera Nature Reserve, the 10th National Botanical Garden, and is provided with a tea tray and space for remote working on WIFI. Bath and toilet are upstairs while the beach shower is downstairs amongst the tall exotic ginger, all with hot water.

The kitchen/diner is under the bedroom in the old stone walled room built when the property was part of a caravan and camping site. It has a table, gas hob, airfryer, toaster, kettle and condiments.

Outside there is an undercover seating area with a barbeque/braai, a welcome pack of wood and grid. There is another fire place in the cottage garden.

Recycling is encouraged at Driftwood, with organics collected for the garden compost or fed to one of the happy free ranging hens. Water is an untreated rainwater supply, so guests may opt to buy bottled water for drinking.

Driftwood Studios is non-smoking. The accommodation is not suitable for parties and no noise should be audible from the communal gardens.

If an additional room is needed, for adults or adults with children, or if no catering facilities are required, book the adjacent Driftwood House room on the ground floor of the owner’s house.

Those applying for the Art Residencies programme can request Driftwood House, up to two weeks for a fully catered stay, 1-2 people.
